MDF.

Our MDF and MDF Veneered boards are sourced from all over Europe. The material is certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). 

Medium-desity fibreboard or MDF is an engineered wood product made by combining hardwood and softwood residual. It is generally denser than plywood making it the perfect material for skirting board, architrave and other internal mouldings. 

MDF has quickly become the first choice for trade buyers, why? It's cost effective and doesn't have knots or holes which can be found in natural woods. It will not expand or contract with changing temperatures and once in place won't budge.

All our MDF is moisture-resistant (MR) and is perfectly fine to use in kitchens and bathrooms where mopping and cleaning will occur. 

Oak.

Our Oak is American Solid White Oak which is most commonly used for house hold woodworking projects. Oak is among the finest of hardwoods, it's strong and beautiful, especially when finished properly.

Our Oak boards are First Grade which means they have a ratio of 90% clear 10% knots. If you're after Character Grade please let us know.  

White Oak is a closed grain hardwood meaning it is almost impervious to water. It's fairly straight-grained which is great for skirting board and architrave.

Oak is still widely used throughout the construction industry. It has stood the test of time and will no doubt be as popular in years to come. 

We recommend opting for the lacquer finish as it really enhances the tones in the wood.
