Metres Direct is a UK manufacturer based in Studley, Warwickshire, that machines bespoke skirting board, architrave, dado rail, picture rail and moulding profiles to match your sample, photo or drawing. Every profile is cut in our own workshop in MDF, solid oak or pine, and delivered across the UK.

When a bespoke profile is the right choice
Period restoration
Original skirting in a Victorian, Georgian or 1930s house can't be bought off the shelf. We'll match it so new lengths sit next to the old ones.
Extensions & partial refits
Carry your existing profile into a new extension or replace damaged sections without redoing the whole house.
Architect & designer specs
Send us a drawing or CAD section and we'll machine it to the dimensions specified.
Developers & fit-out teams
A signature profile across a development, made to a repeatable spec. Trade accounts are available.
How our bespoke profile service works
- Send us your profile. A short offcut is best. A clear photo of the end grain next to a ruler, a pencil tracing of the section, or a drawing or CAD file also works.
- We confirm the profile and price. We check the dimensions, recommend MDF, oak or pine, and send a quote including any tooling cost.
- We machine your run. Once you've approved the quote, we cut the cutters if needed and run your profile in our Warwickshire workshop, primed or unprimed.
- Delivered to your door. We deliver across the UK, to site or to your home.

Bespoke moulding FAQs
Can you match an old skirting board or architrave profile?
Yes. Send us a short offcut, a clear photo of the end profile next to a ruler, or a tracing, and we'll machine new lengths to match.
What do I need to send you?
An offcut of around 100mm is ideal. If that isn't possible, photograph the end of the moulding straight on with a ruler beside it, or trace the profile onto paper and include the overall height and thickness.
Which materials can bespoke profiles be made in?
Moisture-resistant FSC-certified MDF, solid oak and pine. MDF is the most cost-effective option for painted finishes. Oak suits stained or natural finishes.
Is there a minimum order for bespoke mouldings?
Bespoke runs start from 12 metres. Matching a small replacement length? Get in touch and we'll advise.
How long does a bespoke profile take?
Typically 7-14 working days from quote approval, plus delivery.
Is there a tooling or setup charge?
New profiles need a one-off cutter, priced on your quote. We can reuse it for repeat orders at no extra charge.
Can you make matching architrave, dado rail and skirting?
Yes. We can machine a coordinated set of skirting, architrave and rails in the same profile family so every room is consistent.
